October 22 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

For a home to achieve zero energy cost effectively, the approach to the project requires the full integration of disciplines and systems. This seminar will focus on an integrated design approach to create Zero Net Energy (ZNE) homes that are free of enclosure assembly and common HVAC design mistakes. In this class you’ll learn resource-efficient design and building principles, technologies, products, and performance metrics throughout the development process. Get the knowledge to build ZNE homes that are durable, safe, healthy, energy efficient and comfortable to live in.

Course Highlights:

  • Optimal HVAC equipment design and installation, high-efficiency windows, and mechanical ventilation will be discussed
  • Evaluate and select high performance wall and roof assemblies for zero net energy homes
  • Identify advanced framing, lighting, water heating, and plug load energy reduction techniques
  • Pros and cons of high performance options
  • Identify factors critical to achieving cost effective zero net energy home design and construction

Target Audience:

  • Architects, design professionals
  • Builders and subcontractors
  • Home performance contractors, HVAC technicians
  • Business owners, facility mangers
