Ducts in Conditioned Space

 

Ducts in Conditioned Space describes the placement of HVAC ductwork in a portions of the home insulated from extreme attic temperatures. The premise of this design is to improve the efficiency of HVAC systems and thus, reduce energy consumption in new residential construction. This design is listed as prescriptive Option C in the California Energy Commission’s 2016 Residential Compliance Manual.
